In 2016 on the third Saturday of each month Pier 32 sponsored the South Bay Family Sailing Series. In 2016 Astra entered the races in SEP – DEC. That was enough races to qualify to compete for a trophy and Astra came in 2nd place!!!! Thanks to the members of Troop 764 (SEP), Troop 222 (OCT) and the Explorer Club (NOV and DEC) and Skipper Mike Philbrook.
The plan is to have Astra out on the water many more months in 2017. Your unit can be part of this race series, no experience required.
